‘Years ago, a book briefly took the Christian world by storm. “Destined for the Throne” by Paul E. Bilheimer claimed that the real “high calling of God in Christ Jesus” for grace-saved believers today” (Philippians 3: 14) was to prepare to “rule and reign with Christ”.

In other words, to sit with the Lord in his heavenly throne when He governs heaven and earth in a “new world order” (2 Timothy 2:12). Sadly, however, Mr Bilheimer’s book had little lasting effect. That begs the question, why?

Fact is the academic influencers that orchestrate common Christian belief could not put aside their fixation with the so-called “rapture” and “second coming” to realise that long before such events the Lord Jesus Christ will first take to Himself his great power and rule over heaven and earth at his appearing and kingdom (2 Timothy 4:1, Titus 2:13).

Indeed, to this day humanly organised Christendom refuses to accept that a whole new age, a much better “new world order”, will be brought in when Christ sits on his throne. And, stunningly, we grace-saved believers who now suffer with Him in “this present evil world” (Galatians 1:4) will most certainly reign with Him in the next.

Mr Bilheimer saw clearly that the Lord is choosing and calling a selected number of saints to be ministers in his government of heaven, earth, indeed over the entire universe, when He speaks from heaven to inaugurate his kingdom over all.

You see, for nearly 2,000 years now God has maintained outward public silence, speaking only to those who will listen through the “scriptures of the prophets” (Romans 16:26); that is in “the form of sound words” (2 Timothy 1:13) found in the Apostle Paul’s last seven epistles.

But when He speaks audibly from heaven all in heaven and earth will hear his words and a new era of great blessing and real righteousness among men will begin. Isaiah 65:17-25 details some of the wonders of this “new world order”:

For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. … There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old: but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

And they shall build houses and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer and, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

All this and much more will happen in this “blessed new world” which in his epistles the Apostle Paul calls the “day of Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:8,5:5, 2 Corinthians1:14, Philippians 1:6, 1:10 and 2:16). Importantly, this is when “…at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is LORD to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11)

God’s “new world order” will be an age of GLORY in which only those deemed fit by the Lord to live in his kingdom will be permitted to do so. Those who won’t “bow the knee” will be taken out’ and those who remain will be given a new body like the Lord’s that is guaranteed free from corruption. Indeed, according to respected dispensational Bible, researcher Tom Ballinger, “the Day of Christ will have no forms of corruption- meaning the world will be free from dishonesty, bribery, fraud, immorality, sleaze, depravity, theft, gossip, and all sinful acts”.

This is because “in that day” the glory of the Lord shall be revealed “and all flesh shall see it together for the mouth of the Lord hath spoke it” (Isaiah 40:5). Let’s be glad that in the “Day of Christ” “all flesh shall see the salvation of God” (Psalm 98:2). This is when “all flesh shall know I am the Lord” (Isaiah 49:26), and when the earth “shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea” (Habbakuk 2:14).

No longer will the tissue of lies about “evolution” and “science falsely so called” (1 Timothy 6:20) be taught in schools. No longer will anything that denies anything that the Bible says be allowed or believed.

And in that day (the Day of Christ) shall the deaf hear the words of the book and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness (Isaiah 29:18)

Much more could be said but right now the important truth for all those saved by grace is to realise there is a “high calling” (Philippians 3:14) open to those who are quickened to seek it. This calling is to suffer now (in order to qualify to sit with and in Christ upon the throne of his glory in the age to come)

 For “If we suffer with Him we shall also reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12). Thus, our calling is so much more than being saved just to serve in this “present evil world” (Galatians 1:4) where we are, let’s face it, of little effect. We find this “high calling” in 2 Timothy 1:9. Thus, Paul writes to his disciple:

…(God) who hath saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was) given us before the world began. Buty now is made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ who hath abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Sadly, the world knows nothing of this wonderful “new world order” that is the very next event to take place in the unfolding of the Lord’s “plan of the ages”. (You see, not only has the Lord Jesus who died for our sins been “made heir of all things” (Hebrews 1:2); He is also the One True God who created the “worlds”, or “ages” in the beginning before the world began and the first “age” came into being).

So now it is imperative that we, who are “Destined for the Throne”, embrace the glorious prospect set before us – that of ruling and reigning with Christ – by seriously …

Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing (i.e. his appearing in glory) of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13).

Because it is when the divine “New World Order”, takes over that our Saviour God Jesus will…

                … judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom (2 Timothy 4:1).
